Porn addiction: Causes, Consequences & Treatment

Since there are Internet flat rates and free pornos without end, a disease in men has rapidly increased: Erectile dysfunction due to excessive porn consumption.

What at first sounds more funny than disturbing is a serious disorder of male sexuality that should not be taken lightly by those affected.

When does porn addiction start?

The most successful platform in the world: Pornhub.

Estimates show that there are between 200,000 and 500,000 porn addicts in Germany. Not surprising: 90% of them are men. Porn addicts are those who can no longer live without porn. If the stimulus after porn is stronger than after a real woman and you can’t control it anymore if you really want to masturbate or just have to. It’s not even about singles: 40% of addicts are in a relationship or marriage.

The way into such an addiction including the disturbed psychic behavior is creeping. Often starting with normal porn, you keep looking for the bigger kick, the best close-ups, the most unusual things. At some point you’re not even tempted by normal porn between man and woman, no, it has to be more and more fancy or extreme. Then not only once day porn is watched, but more and more often. And of course, masturbated in parallel. Once, three times or six times a day. Incorrectly extreme cases then still unusual Masturbationstechniken come like rubbing the penis at hard objects or the convulsive use of Sexspielzeug like one Rubber Pussy and put the crown on it.

Notes:
Anyone who masturbates to porn at least once a day runs the risk of getting erectile dysfunction in the long run, as their sexual threshold is set higher and higher and can no longer be reached by a normal woman.

That sounds unbelievable to you? No, there are many posts in the forums about this from those affected that describes exactly that. Even the hottest woman could not cause an erection. It is more satisfying for the man to watch porn instead of having sex with a woman. A condition that you certainly don’t want.

The consequences of porn addiction

Anatomy of the Penis
Erectile dysfunction is a common consequence of pornography.

The consequences of such an addiction can have the most serious consequences for those affected, but of course also for the partner. Once your sexual life is disturbed and your partner is no longer sexually attractive, you get more erection. Understandably, the partner (and of course yourself) suffers from this and you are in a vicious circle.

Many men suffer from severe psychological stress, similar to the withdrawal of alcohol by an alcoholic after they have switched off porn consumption completely. Also, this can be reread in various forums in genuine empiric reports. This is not panic-mongering, but unfortunately bitter reality.

Ways out of porn addiction

Shut it down and stop. Simple, isn’t it? Like an alcoholic: just don’t drink anymore. No, unfortunately, it is not that easy in the rarest cases (not even for an alcoholic!).

First the insight must take place. One (n) must recognize that one has here a (serious) problem. Without insight, no improvement. Then reduce porn consumption, either gradually from 3x a day to 1x. From 1x a day to every 2 days. From every 2 days to every 5 days or ideally stop immediately.

Delete your porn collection on your PC, delete your bookmarks, empty your chronicle (not that you accidentally land on Youporn instead of Youtube) and stop masturbating.

Sure sounds very easy for an outsider, but for a person who has been used to this daily grind for years or even decades it means an enormous effort and possibly physical and psychological agony.

How long must this be held out?

So long until a normal erection occurs again when meeting a woman. For one it takes 3 months, for the other only 2 months and for the third for only 1 month. This cannot be generalized because every person ticks and reacts differently. It’s like smoking: some people stop smoking without any problems and someone else needs several attempts, nicotine patches etc. the full program. That’s not bad at all and nothing to be ashamed of. It is important that you understand your illness and want to change something. If you are really ready for this, you have already taken a big step.
It is important not to start again with excessive porn consumption even after recovery. Best not at all in the beginning and only again much, much later and then in moderation.

The good news is, this form of erectile dysfunction is curable in many, many cases. All you need is a lot of iron discipline and stamina.
